Plotting defeat from behind enemy lines

Sunday’s FAI Ford Cup final pairs an interesting battle of family fortunes with first cousins Simon Madden and Conor Kenna going head-to-head in one of the most exciting final match -ups in years.

“It’s going to be a big family occasion, his Da and my Ma are brother and sister, Carmel and Fran Kenna,” said Derry defender Madden, agreeing that there will be at least one winner’s medal in the family, “That’s it, yeah!”

While the two players haven’t discussed Sunday’s decider, Madden says the extended family all keep very much in touch.
