Gers sent packing by Inverness
A 27th minute goal from Andrew Shinnie put the visitors on their way before Gary Warren and Graeme Shinnie completed the scoring in the second period.
Shinnie, a former Rangers youngster, took his goal well, pouncing on a pass from Aaron Doran before rifling past the grasp of Alexander in the Rangers net to hand the visitors the advantage.
The Highlanders doubled their lead after 59 minutes. Graeme Shinnie floated a corner into the box and the Gers defence failed to react as Warren was allowed a free header which he directed into the back of the net. The latter completed the scoring from the spot on 78 minutes.
