Saints’ stars return for Drogheda replay

Another tight encounter is likely this evening (7.45pm) when Drogheda United and St Patrick’s meet again — this time at Hunky Dorys Park — with a place in the FAI Cup semi-final at stake.

Liam Buckley’s side bossed the game at Inchicore on Friday but came up against an inspired keeper in Gabriel Sava and Pat’s haven’t scored in the clubs’ three meetings this season.

The Saints’ striking options could be boosted for the replay, however, as Anto Flood and Dean Kelly have both returned to training, their top scorer Christy Fagan may also play if he comes through a late fitness test and Stephen O’Flynn is available again after coming on as a sub the last day.

For their part, Drogheda will again be without their cup-tied former Monaghan quartet, while Paul Crowley is an unlikely starter after limping out of Friday’s clash. Drogs boss Mick Cooke may decide to freshen up his selection in any case, with one eye on next Saturday’s EA Sports Cup final against Shamrock Rovers.
