Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that Luka Modric is expected to complete his transfer to Real Madrid this week.

Chairman Daniel Levy has been in negotiations for the 26-year-old Croatian midfielder since the end of last season and will sanction his sale for a fee in the region of £33m.

“We’ve gone from talks to advanced talks so now it is just a question of time and the chairman will decide when it is done,” he said on Saturday.
