Meyler committed to Black Cats

David Meyler has spoken of his desire to stay at Sunderland amid interest from a host of Championship clubs.

The Irish midfielder was a peripheral figure last season, making just seven Premier League appearances but has played the full 90 minutes in both of Sunderland’s pre-season friendlies in South Korea.

The 23-year-old has been the subject of enquiries from several Championship sides, including Hull City — currently managed by former Black Cats boss Steve Bruce.
