Reading lead queue for Pogrebnyak

Reading are one of several English clubs in talks with Russian striker Pavel Pogrebnyak, according to his agent.

The 28-year-old spend the second half of last season on loan at Fulham from German side Stuttgart, netting six goals in 12 appearances.

Pogrebnyak is out of contract this summer, and it has been reported newly-promoted Reading are poised to sign him up on a four-year deal worth around £65,000-a-week.

Meanwhile, Wigan chairman Dave Whelan would consider selling winger Victor Moses if Chelsea made an appropriate offer but described their opening bid of less than £4million as “absolutely stupid”.

The Latics signed the Nigeria international from Crystal Palace for £2.5million in January 2010.He has 12 months remaining on his current contract and talks over a new deal have stalled but Whelan said: “The offer that Chelsea have made is no good. It is way too low. It is rubbish.”
