McPake can be cup hero

Pat Fenlon will become a Hibernian legend if his side can overcome city rivals Hearts in today’s Scottish Cup final (3pm).

Hibs are big outsiders but captain James McPake — signed by Fenlon on loan in January — hopes for a win against the Jambos today so supporters can end the 110-year wait to win the trophy. “It’s something that spurs us on, but on the day we will not be thinking about that 110 years, we’ll just be thinking about that 90 minutes, or 90 minutes plus extra-time,” McPake said.

“That’s our chance to wipe away all the 110 years of history and make us heroes at this football club.”
