Mervue pick up first point

Mervue United registered their first point of the season but stay rooted to the bottom of the First Division after a poor encounter at Fahy’s Field last night.

Johnny Glynn’s side lined up without five regular defenders, but Waterford United failed to take advantage and had to be satisfied with a draw.

Paul Phelan had the best chance of a dour first half for Waterford, but he shot across the face of Brian O’Donoghue’s goal after 13 minutes.
