Lynch blasts Sligo to victory

Bohemians are still seeking their first league point following a narrow defeat at the Showgrounds last night.

The only goal of the game came in the 76th minute when Lee Lynch drilled the ball past Gary Rogers after a well-directed free kick by Joseph Ndo.

The exchanges were evenly balanced during the opening 45 minutes with superb defensive play by Bohemians a feature of the half.

The Bohemians goal had a let off in the 12th minute when Raffaele Cretaro failed to get his shot on target when put through.

Danny North went close for Rovers with a blistering shot after 20 minutes and North was stopped in his tracks again minutes later as he advanced on the Sligo goal.

North who was a constant threat up front and grazed the crossbar from a Ross Gaynor corner five minutes before half time as Sligo went in search of a lead goal.
