Kenny appointed new Rovers manager

THE worst kept secret in Irish football has finally been confirmed with Shamrock Rovers announcing the appointment of Stephen Kenny as the club’s new manager.

The Tallaght native is returning to his home place from Derry City where he burnished his reputation as a manager after previous success at Bohemians.

Kenny takes up the post left vacant after the departure of Michael O’Neill who himself enjoyed a hugely successful three-year spell in charge at Tallaght, highlights of which included back to back league titles and qualification for the group phase of the Europa League.
