Buoyant Blues want top spot, says Mata

JUAN MATA summed up Chelsea’s renewed ambition after beating Premier League leaders Manchester City, indicating Andre Villas-Boas’ side now have their sights set on overtaking their rivals.

Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over City on Monday night was the first time the current leaders have lost in the league all season and moved the London club up to third in the table, seven points adrift of top spot.

It could yet prove to be a landmark result in an already unpredictable season and Spanish midfielder Mata says the difference it has made to Chelsea’s confidence is palpable.
