Lucas injury fear prompts Shelvey recall

LIVERPOOL have recalled Jonjo Shelvey from his loan spell at Blackpool as fears grow midfielder Lucas could be out for the season.

Lucas was stretchered off near the end of Liverpool’s Carling Cup quarter-final victory at Chelsea on Tuesday, following a collision with Ryan Bertrand.

He is due to have a scan today but there are strong fears he has suffered serious damage to the knee and that he faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
