Blues face Salthill trip

WATERFORD UNITED will make their second and final trip of the season to Drom to take on Salthill Devon this evening (kick off, 7pm).

Blues face Salthill trip

Manager Paul O’Brien will have to plan without the services of full back Michael Coady who sits out the game due to his two yellow cards in last week’s draw with Finn Harps. Midfielder Conor Sinnott has not yet recovered from his hamstring tear, but otherwise the Blues should have a full squad to select from.

In tonight’s other Airtricity League First Division game, Longford Town host Athlone Town at Flancare Park (kick off 7.30pm).

Athlone make the short journey across the county border looking to put last week’s 7-0 home defeat to Cork City, the biggest in the club’s history, behind them.

With just six games remaining, bragging rights are what are mainly at stake tonight since victory here for Athlone would leave them just five points behind their local rivals and give them an outside chance of catching them before season’s end.
