Final home advantage for Cork

OFFICIALS at Cork City have reacted with delight to the news that this year’s EA Sports Cup Final will be held at Turner’s Cross.

Fortune favoured the Leesiders when the drawing of lots at FAI headquarters in Abbotstown yesterday gave home advantage to City for the decider against Derry City on Saturday, September 24 at 6pm.

The Foylesiders, riding high in the Airtricity League Premier Division, earned the right to meet the First Division title challengers by beating Sligo Rovers on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw in the Brandywell on Tuesday night.
