No call for Kenny as Westwood out of Irish squad

THERE is still no recall for QPR’s Paddy Kenny despite the news that Keiren Westwood is out of the Ireland squad for the Euro qualifier against Macedonia next month.

The loss of the Coventry goalkeeper with a shoulder problem means there is now extra pressure on Shay Given to prove that his international return will not be hampered by his lack of game time following a long period of recovery after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Motherwell’s Darren Randolph has again been called into the squad but, along with David Forde of Millwall, his presence means that cover for Given will now be in the hands of two uncapped players.
