Gabbidon tweets his way into trouble

DANNY GABBIDON could be in hot water after an F-word blast at fans on Twitter.

The West Ham defender, 31, reacted angrily to criticism of his side’s 2-1 home defeat by Aston Villa.

Gabbidon tweeted: “U know what f*** the lot of of you u will never get another tweet from me again u just don’t get it do you. Bye bye.”

West Ham could now punish the Welsh international for his outburst, just a week after team-mate Carlton Cole was charged by the FA for tweets he made during the England v Ghana game.

Meanwhile, following Saturday’s defeat West Ham have five matches to secure their top-flight status, the next two of which are away at Chelsea and FA Cup finalists Manchester City.

After that, the Hammers tackle relegation rivals Blackburn, Wigan and Sunderland. The scrap for survival looks set to come down to the final weekend.

“I think we need nine points to save ourselves,” said Hammers boss Avram Grant. “It will be difficult but it is possible. The next two games are going to be very hard but we are not going to give up.

“We need to take points from one of the next two games. We have beaten big teams already this season. The good thing is it is still very tight.”

Meanwhile Danish full-back Lars Jacobsen is keen to commit his future to West Ham United. The 31-year-old joined the Hammers at the start of the season from Blackburn and he has started the majority of their league matches.

Jacobsen is now hoping to hold talks with West Ham about his future, as his current deal expires in the summer: “I could see myself being here next season. I must find a place to play, because I’m not going to hang up my boots just yet.”
