Chelsea sign 17-year-old Sau Paulo star

SAO PAULO have confirmed that they have agreed a deal with Chelsea for Lucas Piazon.

The 17-year-old midfielder will move to the Premier League champions in January 2012, which is the first transfer window to open after he turns 18 later this year.

The deal is worth around £5.3million, 80% of which goes to Sao Paulo, with the rest divided between the player’s camp.

Piazon has never played a senior game for Sao Paulo but Chelsea have fought off interest from Juventus to clinch his signature, after he underwent a medical in London earlier this month.
