THE stand-off between the FAI and Limerick over the blocked friendly game against Barcelona at Thomond Park last year appears to be at an end.

Both parties had recently entered into court-appointed mediation as part of the on-going fall-out from the controversy but, late last night, a joint statement issued through the FAI press office said that the talks had ended in a successful resolution, though no further details were provided.

According to the statement: “Limerick FC and the Football Association of Ireland have resolved all their differences. They look forward to working together in future for the benefit of the Irish football family.”
