City cry ‘sexism’ over tunnel row
Kloss and City will send an official letter of complaint to Notts County chairman Ray Trew today after she was prevented from entering the players’ tunnel after the 1-1 draw at Meadow Lane. ITV camera crews were furious that Kloss, a former police officer, was not being allowed in the tunnel to get Roberto Mancini to do TV interviews after the final whistle.
Kloss is part of the City media army with a responsibility of looking after Mancini post-match and is allowed in players’ areas up and down the country.
She was furious at the snub which prevented her doing her job, but last night the League One side defended themselves against accusations of sexism.
“She was trying to gain access to an area where she should not have been. It is our ground and those are our rules. It is nothing to do with her being a woman. We will not stand for any kind of sexism at Notts County,’’ said a spokesman for the club.
