Blow for Ipswich as Murphy breaks ankle
The 27-year-old was taken to hospital after sustaining the injury this morning but has not had surgery.
An operation has not been ruled out though and a decision on that is likely to be made next week when the swelling goes down.
The former Bohemians player has spent much of this season on the bench as cover for Marton Fulop but has played in three of Town’s last four games as well as all of their five Carling Cup ties.
But he is now set to miss the two-legged Carling Cup semi-final with Arsenal and also the FA Cup third round match at Chelsea.
