Carragher facing three-month lay-off

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher will be out for three months.

The 32-year-old will undergo surgery after dislocating his shoulder in the 2-1 loss to Spurs at White Hart Lane.

Carragher said: “I’ll have surgery at the end of the week. The average is about 12 weeks. I’d like to come back before that but I’ve got to make sure it’s right.” The blow is offset by news captain Steven Gerrard is due to return to training on Monday.
