Roman Abramovich, Chelsea’s billionaire benefactor, is reported to be courting Barcelona’s Pep Guardiola, while Mike Ashley, Newcastle’s hapless proprietor, is refusing to hand Hughton the contract extension he undoubtedly deserves.

This result does little to clarify either of their respective futures.
