Wage report shock for Real

REAL MADRID have been stunned by Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney’s alleged wage demands.

Spanish daily, Marca, yesterday reported that representatives of the England star have contacted the La Liga giants to discuss a possible move. However insiders report that Rooney has demanded a contract worth 14 million-a-year — €1 million more per annum than ex United colleague, Ronaldo.

In addition to a weekly salary of €282,000 which would make him one of the highest-paid players on the planet, it is alleged Rooney has demanded a greater split on his image rights normally afforded by the club.
