Keane strikes as Sligo steal win

ALAN KEANE saved Sligo Rovers blushes with a goal from the penalty spot a minute from time at the Showgrounds last night after substitute Eoin Doyle was brought down in the box.

Solid defending by the visitors, with Matt Gregg in fine form between the posts, kept Sligo at bay during the opening 45 minutes.

And Bray came closest to breaking the deadlock after 36 minutes of the first half, when Zambarra’s effort from a Tuohy flick whistled inches wide of the Sligo goal.

Gary Dempsey put Bray ahead from a free kick in the 69th minute before a Mathew Blinkhorn header levelled matters seven minutes later and Keane struck late on for Sligo.

SLIGO ROVERS: Gibson, Keane, Davoren, Peers, Ryan, Russell, Blinkhorn, Ndo, Boco, Laughlin, McCabe.

Sub: Doyle for Boco 68.

BRAY WANDERERS: Gregg, Webster, Massey, Mitchell, Prendergast, Dempsey, Zambarra, O’Connor, Shields, Doyle, Tuohy.
