Hughes silent on Given talk

MARK HUGHES yesterday refused to comment on speculation linking Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given with a move to Fulham.

Hughes brought Given to Manchester City during his spell at Eastlands and is reportedly keen to link up the 34-year-old again if Arsenal target Mark Schwarzer leaves the club.

Having lost his first team place at City to Joe Hart a move to Craven Cottage could appeal to Given but Hughes was coy yesterday when questioned on the subject.

“Shay is a very talented goalkeeper who I know very well and I paid good money to take him to Man City, but he’s their player so it’s not in my interest to talk about him,” he said.
