ALEX FERGUSON is already planning for a future without Rio Ferdinand and Wes Brown at Manchester United and has earmarked Ireland’s defender John O’Shea as a potential future leader of the club.

The United manager also revealed that the trio of Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville will all stay on at Old Trafford in a coaching capacity once their playing days are over.

He went on to shrug off any concerns about the level of United’s debt, insisting that the sporting health of the club was in good shape in spite of fans’ protracted protests against the Glazer family which owns the club.
