Keane second in rich list as Capello king of cash
Keane’s fortune means the Ipswich boss is ahead of Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson (€27.7m) and Chelsea chief Carlo Ancelotti (€24.3m), according to The Sunday Times Sport Rich List 2010, which will be published on Sunday.
Fabio Capello tops the list with a fortune worth €39.3m. Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni is fifth with a fortune worth £18m (€20.8m).
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger (€19.6m) is sixth, Sven-Goran Eriksson, now managing Ivory Coast, is seventh (€18.5m), while Man City boss Roberto Mancini (€15m) is eighth. Liverpool supremo Rafael Benitez is worth (€12.7m) while Sunderland boss Steve Bruce, former Manchester City boss Mark Hughes, Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill, Man United reserves coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and West Ham chief Gianfranco Zola are all worth €11.5m.
* Manchester City hope Shay Given will be fit for the start of next season after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Given went under the knife on Wednesday after dislocating his left shoulder in last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal. Early indications suggest the three-hour surgery was a success and he should be able to start rehabilitation soon.
