Safe, but will Hammers blow the whistle on Zola?

EMBATTLED West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola labelled Scott Parker’s match-winning strike against Wigan on Saturday as his favourite moment since becoming Hammers manager.

Zola has been under immense pressure since David Gold and David Sullivan took control of the club with the likes of Mark Hughes and Steve McLaren linked with the Italian’s job of late.

However much of the pressure on Zola’s shoulders was lifted when Parker’s 78th-minute thunderbolt settled a roller-coaster clash at Upton Park with West Ham’s 3-2 victory pushing them to the brink of Barclays Premier League survival.
