O’Shea predicts March return

MANCHESTER UNITED defender John O’Shea, pictured, has dismissed fears his season is over and predicts a return to football in March.

Alex Ferguson last week hinted the Irish international was facing an extended spell on the sidelines due to complications from a leg injury he sustained in Ireland’s World Cup play-off defeat to France last November.

Ferguson said: “It’s like a dead leg except a dead leg is usually only three or four days. The problem is that the blood clot became all knotted and when it gets knotted you get calcification, so therefore it’s a long process to clear that up and he’ll probably be out for the rest of the season now.”
