Davies hails ‘bargain’ Dunne and questions City call

Central defender Dunne, 30, had been skipper at City and spent nine years with the club but the arrival of Joleon Lescott and Kolo Toure meant his days were numbered.

He was allowed to join Villa for £6 million (€6.6m) on the final day of the summer transfer window and has played a massive role in their impressive push for a Champions League spot. The Republic of Ireland defender will be looking to help fourth-placed Villa achieve a fifth successive league win when they visit Arsenal on Sunday.
