Cleared Sullivan blasts Yeung

FORMER Birmingham co-owner David Sullivan, below, last night hit out at new president Carson Yeung after police ruled out a criminal investigation into alleged “financial irregularities” at the club.

Cleared Sullivan blasts Yeung

West Midlands police confirmed its officers met representatives from Birmingham but said that no charges would be pressed.

Mr Sullivan said the allegations had wasted police time. “If Mr Yeung and co have any issues they should deal directly with us, and not through the press or through the police, who have enough to do investigating serious crimes.”

Birmingham issued a stinging response, saying: “Mr Sullivan does not understand the purpose of reporting to the police. Due diligence is proceeding and a detailed investigative report will be prepared and released to the fans.

“The new management wants transparency and open and responsible administration of the club.”
