Abidal slams Dunne after Domenech jibes

FRANCE defender Eric Abidal yesterday fired back at Richard Dunne, who recently questioned Raymond Domenech’s ability to manage Les Bleus successfully.

“I’m surprised to hear the Irish think Raymond Domenech isn’t competent. When you call a coach incompetent even though he led his team to the final of the last World Cup, then I’d like to see what a competent manager would do,” he said at the French base in Clairefontaine.

Abidal also revealed that, as a former Lyon player, he dislikes the colour green, which is worn by regional rivals Saint Etienne.
