Blackpool battle back and end Newcastle’s unbeaten run

The Seasiders dominated the majority of the game but fell behind to an Andy Carroll header six minutes before the break. Brett Ormerod deservedly levelled in first-half stoppage time before Jason Euell secured the three points midway through the second period.

The win sees Blackpool move up to 11th in the league, while Newcastle, who conceded their first goals since the opening day of the season, remain in third position. United arrived at Bloomfield Road for the first time in the league since 1971 and had their first real taste of what they may expect to face in the Championship back waters this season as the hosts, aided by a boisterous home crowd, dominated the opening exchanges and created several chances.
