Ronaldo on the double for Real

REAL MADRID looked fabulous in attack but frail at the back as they began their Champions League Group C campaign last night with a 5-2 win over Swiss champions FC Zurich.

Cristiano Ronaldo put them ahead with a trademark free-kick and they were three goals to the good by half-time thanks to further strikes from Raul and Gonzalo Higuain.

However, they were vulnerable in defence and their lead was reduced to one by Xavier Margairaz’s penalty and Silvan Aegerter’s header.
