Chorus ntl seals ESPN TV deal

CHORUS ntl and ESPN have come to an agreement to make the new ESPN sports channel part of the Chorus ntl offering to customers in Ireland.

ESPN is already available on the Sky network. Of particular interest to Irish viewers will be the US channel’s live broadcast of 46 Premier League matches and 30 Scottish games. The Disney-owned channel’s coverage of the Premier League begins today with Everton v Arsenal (5.30pm). Most of its English games will occupy that slot, with other matches at Saturday lunchtime and Monday evenings.

ESPN expanded its coverage after the collapse of Setanta’s deals. Setanta’s Irish arm is still showing live Premier League games on Saturday afternoon.
