Biggest challenge of my life, insists Brown
The Tigers, having slipped into the Barclays Premier League relegation zone with just two games remaining, face a crucial trip to Bolton today.
Brown said: “I feel as if it is the biggest challenge of my life.
“People have been labelling ‘must-win’ games all season and now all of a sudden we find ourselves in a must-win situation.
“We have got to bring our best game to the table to make sure we carry the season on to another week.’’
Meanwhile Newcastle boss Alan Shearer has served warning that Michael Owen will make up for lost time once he ends his goal drought.
The 29-year-old striker heads into today’s crucial clash with Fulham having not scored since January 10.
But Shearer is convinced Owen needs just one goal to reignite his season.
He said: “I understand why the question has been asked because Michael needs a goal, just like every centre-forward needs goals.
“But once he gets one, then I am sure the rest will follow. We have got to keep on creating chances and if we do that, I have no doubt about that.”
And West Brom manager Tony Mowbray will have to rewrite the record books against Liverpool tomorrow to keep alive the club’s bid to pull off another great escape.
The Baggies need to avoid defeat to take their battle for survival to the final game of the season at Blackburn.
Mowbray said: “Liverpool would not be first choice of teams to play this weekend but that is the way that the fixtures come out and we have to believe that we can go out and get a result against them.
“We have shown in recent weeks, particularly at home, that we can score goals and that is what we have to try and do again this Sunday.”
