IT WAS billed the ‘perfect’ semi-final but didn’t quite live up to the tag even after Ryan Giggs came on to make his 800th appearance.

But Manchester United’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal has surely set up something really special for the second leg.

The result, secured by John O’Shea’s 17th-minute goal a day before his 28th birthday, will leave both sides reflecting on things they could have done better and both teams believing they can reach the final.
