FAI hit back at ex-City player Farrelly’s ‘unfounded’ wage claims criticism
The former international joined Cork in 2007 but had his debut for the club stymied by the FIFA three-club rule. Then, after just 18 appearances, he was struck by a life-threatening aneurysm last May leading to major stomach surgery from which he has since made a full recovery.
When City went into examinership in October, the 33-year-old’s contract was cancelled and, yesterday, he went public about his decision to initiate legal proceedings against the club over the issue of wages which he claims have not been paid since August 12.
