Bayern: Real want Ribery

BAYERN MUNICH coach Jurgen Klinsmann has revealed an enquiry has been received from Real Madrid regarding star midfielder Franck Ribery.

Klinsmann confirmed Madrid’s official approach, but claimed the Frenchman would be better off staying put.

“The enquiries we have received, from Real Madrid or whatever, prove his worth,” said Klinsmann. “He is happy here... we are sure he will stay with us for a long time.”

Juventus have also made enquiries about the 25-year-old, who could also figure on the wishlist of several Premier League sides, but, for now, Klinsmann is proud to be able to say Ribery is his. “We have an absolutely exceptional player in Franck,” he added.

Ribery is refusing to commit himself to the club beyond the end of this season. The France international has a deal until 2011 but could be a transfer target for many next summer, after admitting he did not know whether he would complete his contract.

“There are lots of clubs in Europe I dream of (playing for),” Ribery said. “Nobody knows what’ll happen next season.”
