In-demand starlet McCarthy insists he’s happy with Accies

HAMILTON Academical starlet James McCarthy yesterday moved to quash speculation that he will leave the struggling SPL outfit this month.

The teenage superstar is expected to be called up to Giovanni Trapattoni’s Ireland squad this year and has been linked with some of Europe’s top clubs including Chelsea and Barcelona.

McCarthy surprised many by turning down a chance to join Premier League leaders Liverpool last summer before extending his contract with Hamilton until 2011.
