UEFA facing broadcasters’ compo claim

UEFA could be faced with compensation claims from broadcasters following the loss of pictures during Germany’s Euro 2008 semi-final victory.

According to UEFA, hurricane-strength winds were measured during an electrical storm in Vienna, where the television feed was based for the match played in Basle.

The system for transmitting pictures effectively had to be rebooted three times, causing three cuts that lasted an average of six minutes.
