City’s first goal in the first leg of this semi-final arrived thanks to a brilliantly worked free-kick, a routine known as “The Weasel” within the squad.

The nickname dates back to Johnson’s time as manager of Yeovil, when it was coined in homage to their former midfielder Darren Way, but the originality of the set piece was an example of just how deeply Johnson thinks about the game.
