NOTTINGHAM FOREST striker Junior Agogo booked Ghana’s place in the semi-finals of the African Nations Cup yesterday with a late winner against Nigeria.

The hosts came from behind after Everton’s Ayegbeni Yakubu had opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 34th minute.

Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien’s glancing header restored parity before the Black Stars were reduced to 10 men when captain John Mensah was sent off.

But in the 82nd minute Portsmouth’s Sulley Muntari crossed to the far post where Agogo tapped in from close range.
