Jol has appeared undermined by his own club in the past two weeks as they looked at contingency plans for his possible departure, while wretched defending and failure to kill off Fulham denied the Dutchman a victory heading into the international break.

Spurs were ahead from the 11th minute until the 90th when Diomansy Kamara’s acrobatic overhead kick dipped over Paul Robinson to earn a point for the hosts.
