Make the most of now

TWO of the most persistent complaints you hear about English football are that (a) it’s too predictable at the top and (b) the clubs are forced to play too many matches.

Well, here’s an ingenious solution to both problems: let’s call a halt to the season now.

Admittedly, Liverpool might be a bit annoyed at the implications, what with Everton gaining the title by virtue of having played one game more but, hey, at least Merseyside would have the crown for the first time in yonks.
