Ireland slip one place in the latest FIFA rankings

STEVE STAUNTON’S Irish squad have slipped one place — from 38th to 39th — in FIFA’s latest world rankings. It is the third consecutive month the Boys in Green have dropped down the listings.

The team is now 11 places below Northern Ireland who continue to climb — improving one spot to 28th.

England have dropped out of the top 10 for the first time since September 2005 and are now ranked 12th.
