Spurs striker Mido on brink of Blues loan deal

MIDO appears to be edging closer to leaving Tottenham after claiming a deal has been struck for a move to Birmingham.

The Egypt international found his opportunities limited last season after struggling for fitness and form, with the summer arrival of Darren Bent pushing him down to fifth in the pecking order of strikers at White Hart Lane.

Manchester City were minutes away from signing him in January and Fulham appeared to be leading the chase for the 24-year-old when the season ended, but Birmingham now look to be in pole position.
