O’Donovan eyes City exit but rejects Hull speculation

Speaking after Cork’s 2-0 Intertoto win in Reykjavik – a game in which he played for the most part wide on the right of a five-man midfield with John O’Flynn as the lone man up front – the striker said that he knew nothing about the latest speculation linking him with a move to England.

“It’s not of my doing,” he insisted. “Obviously there’s going to be clubs interested because I’m scoring goals and playing quite well but I don’t know much about it. But it’s going on so long now that I’d like it to be sorted one way or the other. I’m enjoying my football with Cork City but every day there’s something else and I don’t know whether I’m staying or going. Cork City haven’t offered me a contract either so I think my future lies elsewhere and I’d rather have it sorted sooner rather than later. But nothing is sorted yet.
