Shreeves let down badly by Sky over Ferguson incident

VIEWERS of Sky Sports will know of Geoff Shreeves. He does most of the pre and post-match interviews around the key football matches.

You may have heard of his recent bust-up with Alex Ferguson after he’d interviewed Ronaldo when, I and others thought, perfectly reasonably, Shreeves asked the Portuguese if he’d dived for the penalty against Middlesbrough in that FA Cup replay at Old Trafford.

Ferguson went utterly ballistic.

He was at his foul-mouthed, bullying worst and Shreeves, to his enormous credit, stood up to the Manchester United manager.

I know the feeling. Sadly, there are all too few of us reporters that do.

Scandalously, Sky have since ordered Shreeves to apologise to the Scot.

What for? Standing up to the biggest bully in football?

They should be ashamed of themselves for confirming that the Manchester United manager continues to behave appallingly whenever it suits him and continues to escape scot-free.
