Cech poised for Chelsea return after horror head injury

KEEPER Petr Cech says he is ready to resume in goal for Chelsea after recovering from a fractured skull.

The Czech Republic shot-stopper has been sidelined for nearly three months since he was hit in the head by Stephen Hunt’s knee against Reading in October.

Cech, 24, is still awaiting clearance to play and faces a final medical test.

“After they give me the green light for a return, it will only depend on how well I feel and when I will be ready for the first game,” said Cech.

“But I have to say that physically I’m feeling 100% ready.”

Despite not featuring in the match day squad, Cech was put through his paces in goal at Stamford Bridge ahead of the FA Cup win over Macclesfield wearing a protective skull cap.
